About

I am a Ph.D. candidate in the American Religious Cultures program of study within the Graduate Division of Religion at Emory University.  My major area of interest is the American encounter with India, specifically Hinduism, in the 19th century.  I am also interested more broadly in "the sacred" as a category in American culture and society throughout American history.

Apart from my graduate work I also blog for the Religion in American History Blog (http://usreligion.blogspot.com) and Religion Dispatches (http://religiondispatches.org)
